Background information

 

 

Heidi Graydy is registered with PTUK www.playtherapyregister.org.uk as a Qualified Play & Creative Arts Therapist and Trainee Creative Supervisor (providing supervision to other therapists and counsellors)

 

 

She has worked with children of all ages, facing various barriers to learning, for over 16 years. She has worked within Pupil Referral Units, Primary and Secondary schools and Supervised several After-school and Preschool establishments during this time.

 

 

Heidi has extensive experience, knowledge and understanding of social , emotional and physiological difficulties that may impact on a child's positive social, emotional and academic development .

 

She works therapeutically with children and adolescents through client-centred, non-directive Play & Creative Arts Therapy .

 

Although all sessions are confidential,Heidi can work closely with the childs referrers where appropriate (and agreed with the client) in order to identify and support difficulties and develop individual strategies;  to enable  the clients ongoing sucess through support, outside of the therapy room.

 

"It is my belief that every child has unique talents and abilities and are able to succeed, regardless of difficulties faced, given the right support."

 

Heidi's work over this time has supported this theory, with an 85% proven success rate* in seeing an improvement within her clients Mental Health, over the course of the therapeutic intervention.

Heidi is a member of PTUK (Play Therapy UK) and she works within the ethos and values of the organisation."

  • Children who have been traumatized through sexual, physical or emotional abuse   (N.B. Disclosure and family custody resolution through the legal system must precede treatment.)

  • Children who have been hospitalized

  • Children who have witnessed domestic violence

  • Children diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD/ADHD)

  • Aggressive behaviour (hurting others or self)
